Tabletop Roleplaying Games (TTRPGs)

Adventure, Creativity, and Social Connection

Tabletop Roleplaying Games (TTRPGs) are interactive storytelling games where players work together to explore imaginary worlds, solve problems, and create memorable adventures.

Unlike traditional board games, TTRPGs focus on collaboration, creativity, and imagination. Each player controls a character within a shared story while a facilitator (often called the Game Master) guides the world, challenges, and narrative.

At Willy’s, our TTRPG sessions provide a welcoming and structured environment where participants can experience the fun of collaborative storytelling while building confidence, communication skills, and friendships.

While many people are familiar with games like Dungeons & Dragons, our program explores a wide variety of roleplaying games designed for different interests and play styles. Some games may involve fantasy adventures, while others focus on humour, mystery, science fiction, or creative storytelling.

For example, games like Ultimate Honey Heist involve a group of bears planning an elaborate heist to steal honey. These lighter, one-shot games allow participants to jump straight into the fun without needing deep knowledge of complex rules or fantasy settings.

Flexible Adventures

Our sessions are designed to accommodate both ongoing campaigns and standalone adventures.

Programs typically run in 10-week blocks, but the format may vary depending on the group. Some groups may choose to play a continuous story across the full block, while others may enjoy trying a different game or scenario each week.

This flexible approach allows participants to explore new systems, characters, and story styles while keeping the experience fresh and engaging.

Sessions may also include special formats such as battle-royale style encounters, cooperative challenges, or experimental one-shot adventures.

Capacity Building Through Play

TTRPGs naturally support the development of important life skills while remaining fun and engaging.

Through gameplay, participants practice:

  • Communication and conversation
    • Problem solving and teamwork
    • Creativity and storytelling
    • Decision making and planning
    • Emotional regulation and resilience

Because the games are collaborative, players learn to listen to others, contribute ideas, and work together to overcome challenges.

Many participants find that roleplaying provides a comfortable environment to practice social interaction, particularly when communication happens through characters and shared storytelling.

Facilitated by Experienced Game Masters

All sessions are facilitated by experienced TTRPG enthusiasts with backgrounds in disability support.

Facilitators guide the games, explain rules, encourage participation, and ensure that the experience remains welcoming, inclusive, and supportive for everyone involved.

Games are carefully paced to allow participants to engage at their own comfort level.

Groups Tailored to Participants

TTRPG groups are organised based on age, experience level, and player preferences.

This allows participants to join groups that match their interests and comfort level, whether they are completely new to roleplaying games or experienced players looking for deeper adventures.

Programs include:

  • Beginner-friendly games for new players
  • Groups for experienced players who enjoy longer campaigns
  • School-aged groups running after school hours
  • Mature-aged groups for adult participants

Growing Program

As interest continues to grow, we are gradually expanding our TTRPG offerings.

New groups and time slots will become available over time, allowing more participants to join games that suit their schedule and preferences.
